Our First Aid training supports the British Resuscitation Council’s aim to save lives, prevent and reduce suffering and increase the well being and resilience of people in the UK. Learning first aid can help you feel more prepared and able to cope in an emergency situation. For businesses, it can also help manage risks and reduce time lost due to illness or injury. Our regulating body is F.A.I.B – First Aid Industry Body.

Course Content

The EFAW training and assessment will cover the following topics:
Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
Assessment and management of first aid incidents
Management of an unconscious casualty
Management of a casualty who is not breathing normally
Management of a casualty who is choking
Management of a casualty who has a bleeding injury
Management of a casualty who is in shock

Principles of Emergency First Aid at Work outlines the skills required for first aiders in lower-risk workplaces to manage first aid calmly and confidently

Course Certificate

Upon successful completion of the multiple-choice question paper and practical exercises, each learner will receive an HSE approved and nationally recognised Emergency First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Overview

This 2 day first aid re-qualification course is a Level 3 QCF Award. This course re-qualifies you as a first aider if your original First Aid at Work certificate is about to expire. If your First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate is going to expire in the next 3 months, then this 2 day course is the ideal first aid at work refresher course, and will re-qualify you as a first aider at work for another 3 years. (You have 28 days from your certification expiry date to choose this course)

Alongside meeting H&S regulations, your skills will also be refreshed to keep them sharp and ready in the event of a first aid emergency. By renewing these skills with this first aid re-qualification course, it ensures that you will be able to act decisively in high-stress situations where a colleague has had an accident or fallen ill.

Principles of first aid
Prevention of cross-infection Basic life support (CPR)
Managing breathing
Managing unconscious casualties
Wound and bleed treatment
Shock treatment and anaphylaxis
Burn, poisoning and eye treatment
Treating major and minor illnesses
Epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, poisoning
Record keeping and secondary surveys
Managing cardiac circulation
Managing asthma attacks and choking
Treating fractures and dislocation

Course Certificate

First Aid At Work

3 Day Course FAW – £210 per delegate

Become a qualified first aider. (Aimed at high risk workplaces)

Overview

This 3 day First Aid at Work course replaces the old 4 day First Aid at Work course. It is suitable for higher hazard workplaces such as construction sites and factories or workplaces with more than 50 employees. Certificates are valid for three years. It is strongly recommended by the HSE that candidates undergo an annual refresher in the years before re-validation is required.

This 3 day course includes course materials, expert tutoring and practical exercises to give learners in-depth training in the following information and treatments:

Course Content

Safe best practice – minimise the risk of infection
Record keeping – recording accidents, RIDDOR, First Aid kits, disposing safely of clinical waste
Awareness of current regulations
Vital Signs – Breathing, level of consciousness, temperature, colour
Incident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents
Airway Management – causes and treatment of unconscious collapse
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Use of automated external defibrillator (AED) on a casualty
Breathing Problems – choking
Circulation Problems – controlling external bleeding and treatment for shock
Minor Injuries – small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters
Major Injuries – injuries to bones including suspected spinal injuries, chest injuries
Major burns and scalds
Eye injuries –  including how to irrigate an eye
Sudden poisoning and anaphylactic
Soft tissue damage

Course Certificate

Upon successful completion of the multiple-choice question paper and practical exercises, each learner will receive an FAIB approved and nationally recognised First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.
